THE CHARACTER OF GEPPETTO

The character of Geppetto represents a simple person, almost childish in his blinding to see the pranks of Pinocchio.

The loneliness that surrounds him and his desire of tenderness, is the rubber bands that push him to create a puppet "to turn the plazas and to make some penny" as in the beginning he makes to believe.

In reality he wish escaping the loneliness that Pinocchio has created, for a proper need of company.

And then he always protect his child, despite the biriconates that he makes, to always have him in the heart, despite the sorrows that his child provokes to him. Geppetto has not the typical attitude of a good father, prepared always to sacrifices for his own child.

In the most "sweety" sign of the zodiac, we find people who feel a depth attachment to the most traditional values and the family affections.

Endowed with a visceral maternal instinct, in the amplest sense of the term, they get crazy literally for their own dears, often getting to be blind in front of showy problem list both concerning the involved people whom the interpersonal relationships in itself.

Just this strong sense of the family is at the same time the best virtue and the principal fault. Cancer won't disdain to resort to stratagems and affective blackmails in the most varied forms and measures, also to hold back next to itself (and to the sure one among the dams domestic walls…) who loves, submerging them with cares and thoughtful and constant attentions.

It could be said, however, that Cancerians lies above all with themselves, particularly relatively to their own affections; their loves are firm, their house is very beautiful, their children are perfect, etc… Nobody will be able to convince them in spite of every possible contrary evidence.

We can observe a cancerian attitude example in the character of Geppetto, in whom the desire to have an own creature to care and love, is so strong to make him build a wood puppet, on which to pour again an big affectivity.

He invents a relationship, pretends that the puppet is exactly like the desired child and continuous obstinately to believe that Pinocchio is good and reciprocates his affection despite he combine all disasters.

Tales are just tales, have a happy ending that rewards Geppetto's faith... But thi real life is not always like tales.
